Our NOS Alive picks – The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain is an alternative rock Scotish band formed in 1983. Before their breakup in 1999 they released six albums, the creativity of the band revolved around the inspiration and the ability to compose of the brothers Jim and William Reid. Somewhere between My Bloody Valentine and Ride this band is playing its own kind of shoegaze and set in the darkest post-punk age.

Their lyrics will stick in your head for years, you’ll know what we mean after watching the video of one of their most popular songs “Just Like honey”:

They reunited in 2007. On January 22nd they were confirmed to be in the Coachella’s line up. After their gig on April 27th (Scalett Johansson joined them in the stage), they played “All Things Must Pass” in The Late Show with David Letterman on May 21st on the same year.

Since 2007, they are touring around Europe (mainly) and we are lucky because we can enjoy them, as they will play at Heineken Stage at NOS Alive in Lisbon on Saturday 11th July.
