Our NOS Alive picks – Future Islands

On 9, 10 & 11 July in Lisbon Tune Munch is covering another one of our favourite festivals this summer, NOS Alive. Amongst the headliners you’ll find Muse, The Prodigy, Mumford & Sons, Disclosure and Sam Smith. We’ll also be sharing some of our own top picks with you. Our first pick of NOS Alive 2015 is one of our all time favourite bands – Future Islands.

Future Islands are a synth pop trio from Baltimore. With over a decade of experience and a whole lot of gigs (they’ll soon be playing their 1,000th gig), last year they released the album “Singles”. Singles -the first album with their new record label 4AD- is considered a very mature album and with it they have received the acknowledgement that they deserve. After a mind-blowing appearance on the Letterman show in March 2015 frontman Sam and the band received a massive boost of attention but continue to tour and create magical nights across the US and Europe.

The Album “Singles” is filled with romanticism and stories of broken hearts. They will play at Heineken Stage on Friday 10th July.
